Junior Classroom

Youngset’s Junior Class has a learning atmosphere filled with fun, enthusiasm, and imagination. Learning takes place throughout the classroom. Children move freely about the room to explore the learning stations. Teachers and parent helpers are always near by to answer the children’s questions, to help expand thinking and play and simply listen.

Typical Class Schedule (9a-12p)

8:45 a.m. – Parent Helpers arrive and receive instruction for the morning.

9:00-9:20 a.m. – Arrival and greeting. Children are greeted at the door and directed to free choice activities within the room.

9:20-10:05 a.m. – Free Choice. Learning centers in classroom available for first section of this time with Big Block Room options available after all children have explored the day’s classroom activities.  Parent helpers assist with dramatic play, blocks, arts, crafts and games. 

10:05-10:25 a.m. – Morning Meeting. Parent helpers are introduced. The days activities are discussed and important information is shared.

10:25-10:45 a.m. – Hand-washing and Snack.

10:45-11:00 a.m. – Circle Time. Music, movement and rhythm activities.

11:00-11:45 a.m. – Large Muscle Time. Outdoor or in the gym.

11:45-12:00 p.m. – Teacher reads story aloud for closing circle followed by dismissal to Lunch Bunch or parent.

12:00– 1:00 p.m. - Optional Lunch Bunch Hour ($10)
